Does anyone have any experience with toeing in W22s? I can easily build my wall to allow toe in, but don't know if it is worth it or even harmful.

Find an ideal horizontal spacing and don't worry about the toe in. It kind of defeats the purpose of the on-wall design.

To add to Peter's comments, the W22s, like the M22s, have very good dispersion and excellent off-axis response that is consistent with the shape of the 22's on-axis response, so I doubt that any toe-in would make a significant audible difference.

All my listening tests at Axiom to the W series are done with the speakers mounted in a wall facing out, as they would in a home installation.

Thanks for the advice. A follow-on question: The wall on either side of the 65" plasma is only 12", then the side walls come in at a 150 degree angle for 12", then it is open. So the W22s would be a couple of inches from both the display and the angled wall stub.
I can send a drawing if it would help.

I'm confident it would sound fine unless you sit really far away from the TV. The further away you sit, the less separation you'll hear between the left and right channels.

The thing to keep in mind is that most people have to deal with less than ideal circumstances. I've certainly learned to live with mine and continue to enjoy this hobby despite lacking a dedicated audio/theater room.

I wanted the largest screen possible, which meant the W22's were only 6 - 8" from the side walls. I toed them in a bit otherwise I thought the center of the room might be lacking a bit... I just gave it a good test over the weekend and it sounds fantastic.

I'm looking at a revised layout that will let me space the W22s about 8' apart (around the 65" plasma). My prime listening position will be about 9 to 9-1/2 feet from the screen and speakers. With this spacing will I still be OK with no toe in?

I would say it should work fine, the speakers should have a good horizontal dispersion.

I think if you had the speakers farther apart than the distance you are to them, a little toe-in might help. Since you are close enough and within the golden triangle, toe-in really shouldn't be necessary.

I've got mine about 6 feet apart and also close to a sidewall - still sounds great! My main seating is ~9-10 feet back from screen. Make sure you account for the wall studs when installing the W's - especially the W150 if you're getting one. There isn't a lot of wiggle room between standard 16" on center studs. Thanks Dan. It looks like your W150 is pointed straight out, not tilted up. Does it integrate well with the W22s? I am thinking about tilting the W150 up 10 degrees or so to point more at ear level.
