I have been helped greatly by this board before so, here goes...
I have a Pioneer 1019 and a bunch of Axiom's on order. I also bought a Cogeco cable box that will permit me to record programs. On the back is a HDMI port. The manual for the 1019 shows a way to connect a cable box to the receiver however, is it possible to do a connect from the HDMI on the Cogeco box to an HDMI on the Pioneer?
Also, I know I can connect my Wii to the component terminals on the back of my HD Panasonic. As it is mounted on the wall, getting to these is not easy. Is there a way I can connect the Wii to the 1019 and get a somewhat better picture? Or, is it worth it, maybe using the composite terminals on the front of the TV is about as good as I can get from a Wii.
Thanks
Ron
BTW: I am in the process of setting up a 7.2 system using Axiom's as my speakers. I am new to this, don't mind reading manuals but figure I am coming back to 'you guys' on a regular basis for some help with this.

We're here for you, Ron \:\)

I'd try to run ALL your "sources" (the cable box, the Wii, CD player, DVD/BD, whatever) to the Pioneer and then just run one HDMI cable to the TV.

I don't know that passing the Wii signal through the Pioneer is going to make it "better", but I'm pretty sure it won't make it worse. Wii only does 480p natively, so it's going to get scaled somewhere (either by the Pioneer or the TV).

Edit: if you don't have a component video cable for the Wii, pick one up from Monoprice. They're cheap.

We're often faster than reading the manual. And funnier, if Mark is participating.

Just note that some avr's won't up convert a signal from some gaming systems. My 3808 won't upconvert the Wii when the Wii is in progressive mode but the 3808 will upconvert the signal when the Wii sends a standard 480i signal.
