I was looking at picking up a used pair, but i have a few questions.

These are the original QS8's. What are the differences between the different versions? What's new in V.3?

The original QS8s are label as 6 ohm. My M60s are 8 ohm. Will this cause any issues with my yamaha receiver?

Hi Rui,
My colleague, Alan Lofft, wrote an excellent Axiom article on the subject . . .

Easy Answers to Confusing Specs: Sorting Out "Impedance"

" . . .you can connect speakers with different impedances (8 ohms, 6 ohms, 4 ohms) to an AV receiver with no negative effects so long as the impedance of any of your speakers doesn't go below 4 ohms. . . "

Thanks Jc.

Is the only difference between the V.1 and V.3 cosmetic & exterior design? (removable bottom grills and magnets to attach the grills?)

Oh no, there are definitely sonic changes--new drivers, new crossovers, etc. I don't know of anyone doing a comparo between the two, though.

I have both V2 and V3 QS8s and did direct comparisons. The only way I can tell the difference is the magnetic grills and all silver drivers. If there are any sonic differences they are too subtle for me to discern in all the enveloping sound they produce.
