Is there a place I can go to find schemtics or footprint measurements for the M60's and the Q8's. The former should be pretty easy since they are more or less rectangular. The Q8's might be a little harder. They would require me to see some type of diagram. I want to make some speaker stands this month prior to my purchase next month. Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the delay in responding! Here are the measurements.

For the QS8s, we'll start at the back and move clockwise around it, ignorning the tiny little slanted corners:

Back is 10 and 7/8s inches, then the side is 2 and 3/8s, then a 45* angled piece at 4 and 5/8s, followed by the piece facing us and parallel to the back is 4 and 5/16s. Then reverse it to get back around to the back.

The M60s are 7 and 1/16th at the back, 13 and 3/4 inches at the side, and 7/8ths on the angle. The front is 8 inches.

Just a question - what sort of stand are you building for the QS8s? The bottom side of the 8s is a woofer, so it needs to be elevated off any surface.

Best,

I will be making some custom stands actually.

The M60's will be on small stands so that I can put spikes on the speakers and not worry about them damaging the carpet. I am currently trying to find a finish that will match either of the two cutsom Axiom finishes I am currently considering. The stands will be sand filled of course to sonically isolate the speakers from the floor.

You bring up a good point about the QS8's. I knew they had the woofer in the bottom, so I will need to make the top platform upon which the speaker rests with a hole in it where the woofer is. It would help if I knew how big that hole was. I think I may wait until I actually get the QS8's before making the top part of the stands so I can make the hole in the right spot. That is, unless I can get some kind of picture of the bottom of the QS8's. Something like a photocopy would be great. I could then blow it up until its size was that of the measurements you gave above. I will post some pics of the stands when they are done.

I simply can not resist a DIY project when I see one. Definately a weakness of mine.

Does this pic help at all?

Yes. Thanks a bunch. That hole was bigger than I expected. Might need to tweak the design of the stands for the QS8's after seeing that pic. I love a challenge!
