OK....I just read this thread that seems to imply that Axioms and Rockets use drivers from the same manufacturer. Just goes to show you that drivers aren't everything!

Well, its been said that axiom manufactures their own drivers. I took my speakers apart and i dont remember anything like that stamped on them. but as i look at the pics of that event i see an EWF******* stamped on the back. no made in china though. That tweeter is rather. well.... looking but looks can be deceiving. i still enjoy my axioms even if the drivers are made in china. ( same as my amp and cdp) so who cares. but i have seen almost identical tweets at parts express.

Certainly! My Hales System Two's use Dynaudio drivers, but they sound VERY different from Dynaudio's own speakers.

Driver manufaturers (wherever on the globe they are located, which is technologically irrelevant in this era) can make essentially identical-looking drivers but with totally different T/S parameters. Also, even if the drivers AND cabinet alignments are identical, you tweak the crossover parts by 10%, and you'll get totally different-sounding speakers.

If they're cousins, they're 4th cousins twice removed, and we don't talk about them much. They aren't even invited to the semi-annual family reunion.
