Long time since I have posted anything ...my HP M80's are sounding as great as ever. My old NAD T785 avr has left the building! I now have a Anthem 1180 running them and they of course sound great even better with the ARC room correction. That said I have another NAD receiver in my system that I have been using to stream music to my 2 outdoor speakers located on the deck ...winter is on its way and what I would like to do is disconnect the outdoor speaker leads and hook some new leads from that NAD receiver to my Axioms to listen to streaming music. Since the are 2 sets of speaker connections on each speaker and I would not be listening to 2 sources at once can I hook a second set of leads to the Axioms without disconnecting the leads from the Anthem...or should I use a switch of some sort to switch between the two?

ok, i'm not going to lie, after reading your post, I just had some flash backs to my high school tests lol, Bobby had 10 cars, Kim took 5... etc lol. I would connect as many components as possible to your speakers, just never play more than one at a time! Thats my best guess, and it may be VERY wrong, so hopefully someone smarter will come along.

I can think of two reasons why you should not: 1. you may accidentally turn on both sources and that could be trouble for one or both sources, 2. the output of one source could short and thereby short the output of the other source.

A switch is a pain and may affect the sound. A good option would be to use banana plugs at the speaker terminals and simply disconnect one or both plugs connected to the source that is not in use.

Thanks MoJo for the reply. I do you use banana plugs and in the back of my my mind I was concerned about some sort of feedback finding its way back to the new Anthem receiver and messing it up if I had both avr's hooked to the same speaker. It is not that difficult to pull the banana plugs out so probably do that but being a bit of an old guy with an ancient back i will explore a some switches and see if there are any good ones out there that wont mess with the sound.

If it's more convenient, you could disconnect one plug at the source.
