Long time Axiom owner. I just received my M3 Walnuts and was setting them up and ran into a subwoofer problem. I currently have 2 x EP500 v3. One of my subwoofer cables/adapters became damaged and I need to replace it. Problem is I'm a little unsure what to replace it with.

I have a Denon 3400H and I connected my subwoofers via a subwoofer cable. Problem is the end that plugs into the subwoofer low level input is too small and I had to purchase an adapter in order to plug it into the subwoofer's low level input. I just don't remember what the name or type of adapter it is. Just hoping someone can provide some assistance.

As well, rather than purchase an adapter, is there a cable that comes with an rca end that would fit into the receiver and the other end larger that would fit into the back of the EP500?

I was pretty sure the v3 ep500 had rca inputs … but when I checked out a picture on audiomart it only had an XLR … that’s very odd.

You need an female RCA to male XLR Adapter …

Mojo, Have you seen the 500v3? I change my post after I saw a picture of its amp … I was shocked that it only had a low level XLR. wonder if all of them are like that or if they had a mid version change. It must have shipped with an adapter otherwise I think it would be a big marketing fail.

RCA to RCA won't work. The back of the EP500v3 has a larger input than the RCA plug. I had to use an adapter but not sure what size adapter it is...

I didn't realize they make an rca to xlr adapter. I'll see what I can find.

In looking at all the options, I'm getting confused. There's reference to balanced and unbalanced.

There is some a low level input on the back of the EP500 V3 that looks like an rca plug but it's bigger. Maybe a 6.5mm or something just not sure.

Maybe I'll have to call Axiom tomorrow. What a pain!

v3 should have never seen the light of day.

I only see XLR in photos. Maybe you got v3.5.

I put rca to xlr into Amazon and took the link of the first one I saw …RCA to XLR
Looks ok … less then $10 but you might want to check out a few to see if you like something better

Found my manual for the subwoofer
It says Your subwoofer is shipped with a supplied 1.4" Phone to RCA Jack Adapter and this plugs into the XLR/1/4" Phone in on subwoofer.

I never did like the adapters as they were a little loose and hung down. I wonder if an XLR adapter will be the same. Can I use any rca to xlr cable to connect my receiver to the subwoofer?

Would this work?
https://www.amazon.ca/Monoprice-Connectors-Shielded-Oxygen-Free-Conductors/dp/B001UJH0XU/ref=sr_1_13?crid=3CG2LHUMGUP2X&keywords=rca+to+xlr+cable&qid=1645072908&sprefix=rca+to+xlr+cable%2Caps%2C81&sr=8-13

My only concern is it says "An XLR to RCA cable converts a balanced audio signal into an unbalanced signal"...I Have no idea if this is ok or a problem.

XLR is a balanced connection.
If your receiver had XLR outputs an XLR cable would give you a connection which has better noise rejection (a long run is less likely to hum or pick up stay signals) than a single ended connection like RCA. Unfortunately, most receivers only have RCA output which is unbalanced… it’s not really important to understand all of this.

In your case, you can use a RCA to XLR cable OR an adapter.
The RCA gender is different depending on what you pick (males plug into females)
Each has an advantage… I’d personally opt for the adapter (XLR male to RCA female) as RCA male to male cables are common and inexpensive (usually as a stereo pair … I.e. right and left … you can use either side and leave the other hanging or on most you can un-zip them and have two 1 channel cables)

The cable you picked would work if it’s long enough to reach (receiver to sub). Otherwise you’d need to have an RCA extension cable (male to female).

Thanks. Just ordered the female RCA to male XLR Adapter cable. Now to wait 2 weeks for delivery as I couldn't find it on the CDN Amazon site but US one only.

If you can still cancel the US order … how about this one: RCA to XLR
