Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if the binding post straps on Axiom speakers were identical, as far as materials of construction, as the binding posts themselves? I found one post in which Alan referred to them as gold plated, but what is the core metal? I have read/been told that some companies use materials that are not very well suited for audio in these straps before, while at the same time providing good quality binding posts. I have recently ordered some M60's. These are the first set of speakers I have had with dual posts(replacing some AR302's that received several unsolicited cat attacks:)

I was debating using some wire jumpers...

Any thoughts/opinions regard straps vs. jumpers?

Thanks,
Matt.

Straps: Real sob's when it comes to taking them off and putting them on. especially when your kneeled down behind the speaker in a corner.

Jumpers: easy to remove and replace for whatever reason. Looks cool.

Matt, possibly you've been reading stuff such as this minor-league scam. The truth is that any kind of material which is even a reasonably good electrical conductor is "well suited" for those straps. Even pieces of wire coathanger would be fine for the distance of 2" or so involved, since the higher resistance of steel as compared to copper would be insignificant over such a short distance. The supplied straps are probably brass, but whatever they are no "quality" question exists.
