My H/K reciever says 8 OHM speakers only on the rear panel. The QS8s are 6 OHM speakers. Will this harm or over heat my reciever? Bren do you have spread sheet that will help me with this?

Bray,

You don't need a spreadsheet to answer this one. Any receiver that will drive an 8-ohm load will drive 6-ohm loads with no problems or overheating. Leave the receiver set at 8 ohms (if there's a switch or menu setting).

It is only the much increased current flow of 4-ohm loads that give many multi-channel A/V receivers problems.

And depending on how robust the power supplies and amp sections of some receivers are, some brands (H/K and Denon) will drive 4-ohm loads without current limiting or protection circuitry shut-down. Those brands also have stickers on the back or warnings in the owner's manual to "Use only 8-ohm speakers". . .

Regards,
