While listening to an sacd today, everything sounded great, then I switched to cd and nothing was coming through except a very muted bass (sub only). I knew that I needed a new rca cable for the cd player, so I went and picked one up. When I came home and hooked it up thinking that was probably the prob, still nothing. I've since tried another sacd, and all channels are firing except for front left and front right. What could have happened???? Any thoughts???
Right now I have disconnected all power hopeing to reset something. If that doesnt work do you all have any other suggestions??
Nevermind.
I accidently hit the speaker button on the remote witch turned off the front right and left channels.
Gotta tell ya that scared the crap out of me!!!! I'm going to go wipe now.
In time of crisis, the first question anyone should ask is "what the h*ll did I do now"? 99% of the time, the problem is gonna be pilot error. (I speak from personal experience, trust me)
You know, it's likely that 2805 was severely damaged in the process, and will likely need replacing. For what it's worth, I was looking for a damaged 2805 for parts.

It's really more than what I should spend, but I'm feeling generous today and can offer you $50 for it. PM me for my address.

Yea, that was my first thought also, but in a panic (literaly), I over looked the tiny little "speaker' button on the remote. The denon remote has way too many buttons, that arent exactly user friendly. That is one thing I miss about my H/K.
You have GOT to be kidding... What kind of H/K did you have?! I hate the remote for the 525. It's hard to imagine that other receivers have a worse one.
Universal Remote MX-700 will fix you right up

My wife HATED the Denon 1804 remote.

I'll go $75 for your emotionally crippled receiver. Good, caring home. Lots of room to run. Other components to play with.

Glad you got it figured. I hate those moments.
I actually like the Denon 1804 remote. It is very easy to use. I like the backlit buttons for dark use. It's not the best remote obviously, but it is certainly more than adequate.
I still have the H/K AVR 130, and its remote compared to the Denons is a piece of cake.
Anyone interested in buying the H/K? Its all but brand new, I just wanted a bit more head room, so the upgradeitis bug bit and I got the Denon.
I don't disagree with you, Matt. I thought it was serviceable too. But, fortunately, neither one of us is my wife.
Ah, good point.
