I'm noticing some distortion when increasing/decreasing the volume on my NAD C370 so I think my pot is in need of cleaning. My system is in my basement which is prone to dust from my wood stove and although I am diligent when it comes to keeping my equipment as dust free as possible I still have this problem.

I have read great things about Caig products, Deoxit and Progold specifically but I'm not quite sure which one I should be using. Caig makes different versions of Deoxit, one that is and isn't safe on plastics, and not being an electronics guru I have no idea if my Pot contains plastic parts or not.

The other problem is I live in Atlantic Canada and it's not easy to find this product. Anyone have any alternatives to this product? I should mention that I have used Radio shack contact cleaner and compressed air with other equipment I have owned over the years with limited success, plus my NAD is my baby and I like being gentile on her.

Any help would be appreciated.

Caig Pro Gold - swear by it! I use it whenever I make a connection, speaker or interconnect.

2x6spds, thanks for the response, I think I have found a Canadian online source for it.

I believe the volume pot on the 370 is a sealed unit. So you might not be able to clean it. Also keep in mind the part on the back of the pot is the remote control motor. So, dont spray that stuff in there.

Hey Haoleb, thanks for the heads up, I wasn't aware that the pot was a sealed unit. I was in contact with a service shop in my area and they recommended Calilube MCL for my application, guess it's worth a try.

You might try pulling the knob off the front and then spraying a couple quick jets of chosen product along the axle. Some might get into the insides. Then replace the knob and turn the pot fully back and forth a few times to see if it makes a difference.

That was my plan. Thank's Peter.
