I just bought the yamaha 5790 reciever. It has two settings. 6 or 8 ohm. If I was to buy the Epic 60 500 system. Which settings would I use. I see the 60's are 8, but the other speakers are 6. I don't think each channel is selectable so which do I use? And since these speakers are different ohm specs, will this cause the reciever to run hot?

Thanks

Leave it at 8. Setting it to 4 will limit the current output. The Yamaha should be able to handle 6 ohms at full current without a problem.

I believe you should set your receiver to 8 ohms and you shouldn't have any problems. Here is a quick thread explaining why.

Edit: Of course Peter wins again.
