If you like my kind of music, these are all quite good. Noteworthy is the care & quality put into Eric Clapton's recordings - great sound:

* Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood - 'Live from Madison Square Garden;

* Eric Clapton - Crossroads Guitar Festival, 2004 Dallas; 2007, Chicago; 2010, Chicago; 2013. New York (all 2 disc sets);

* Eric Clapton - Live on Tour 2001 'One More Car, One More Rider' in LA;

* Eric Clapton - Live in Hyde Park (some of my favourite blues tunes here);

* Santana - Sacred Fire Live in Mexico City (great older stuff);

* Santana - Live at Montreaux 2011;

* ZZ Top - Live From Texas 2008; and

* Wynton Marsalis & Eric Clapton - Play the Blues, Live from Jazz at Lincoln Center 2011...

My go-to concerts to show off the system depending on the audience.

Already mentioned but deserve extra votes

- Dave Matthews & Tim Rynolds: Live at Radio City
Jaws drop every time as there are just the two perfectly recorded guitars to concentrate on.

- Eagles, Hell Freezes Over
- Crossroads Guitar Festival, 2004 Dallas
- Diana Krall - Live in Paris

A couple of others.

- Nine Inch Nails - Beside You in Time
In the extras, the "only" video has an awesome surround sound mix that sounds incredible and there is a ticking beat that does a slow, almost perfect 360 around the room. A great way to tell if your speakers are truly calibrated.

AIX Records - HD Demo Compilation
I forget the exact name but it's equally as impressive as the Dave Matthews & Tim Rynolds BR except you have almost every genre of music at your disposal to try. Really impressive sound staging. Sometimes the artists are just, well.., everywhere in your room.

Metallica, Français Pour une Nuit
Great sound for an outdoor concert once you get a couple of songs in. I don't rank it as highly as the others above but it's rare to get a great sounding metal concert. Also, the Arena of Nimes (the surviving Roman Colosseum in France) makes for a very cool venue. I was lucky to nab a used copy of this before they started selling for !100, $200 plus.)

Weird but never the less .. the dvd Celine Dion A new day (for the wife) the video and sound was very good... and safe to say full immersion and also great way to tell if your speakers are truly calibrated.

JBG, I enjoy the extra where they show the show behind the scenes from beginning to end. Sound quality is top notch on that Blu Ray.

If you speak her name, you have to keep her. We are boxing her up for you now.

And please DO forget to punch air holes in it this time.

I still stand by my selections from 6 years ago:

Fleetwood Mac - The Dance
Eagles - Hell Freezes Over & Farewell
Nirvana - Unplugged

And even though it is not a concert, I will beat a dead horse again with the movie The Commitments. (Are you sick of me mentioning this over and over?) LOL

Honourable Mention: AC/DC - Live at Donington. Audio is not quite up to snuff with the rest of this group, but it is a fun concert, regardless.

Queen live in montreal is pretty good.
Eddie Vedder water on the road is great too.

My favorites are:

Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus
Allman Brothers - At Fillmore East

And I can't believe we're at post 102 and no one has mentioned them. You guys must not like good music!

I appreciate the extra where they display the display under the surface from starting to end. Audio quality is high quality on that Blu Ray.

Blueray
The Band The Last Waltz
THE DUKES OF SEPTEMBER (DONALD FAGEN, MICHAEL MCDONALD, BOZ SCAGGS)

I need to hang out with TAM and Murph... I like the same music.

My favorite concert has to be Collective Soul, Home. The recorded it with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. The combination of the orchestra just adds something to Collective Soul’s sound that makes it pretty amazing. There is also quite a bit of dialog from the brothers that makes the concert more personal. Definitely a “must have” if you like Collective Soul.

The sound quality is pretty good, but not on the same level as the Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Blue Ray.

michael:

Come to the Axiom Party in September.

We can hang out, bring our favourite CDs/SACDs/Blu Rays, take over the playing machines & force everyone else to listen to our stuff, ha!
