I've got my finger on the trigger for purchasing a pair of LFR1100, but I can't quite bring myself to buy "blind". The description of the omnidirectionality sounds incredible, I just have no idea how it stacks up against the B&W CM10 I've actually heard.

Does anyone live in or around NYC and have the LFR1100 I could listen to?

Omnicurious - Over the last 15 years, I have had Infinity IRS Sigma ($12K), Legacy Signature SE ($7k), Klipschorn, Energy Veritas, Paradigm Studio 100, Onex Ref 3, B&W 805, Martin Logan ESL ... and more.

Many of those speakers are still here, but it's the LFR-1100's which are the "regular" speaker in the system. They portray music more accurately than any speaker I have owned.

There is a lot of science in the design, from the drivers to the DSP. If you would like, I can call you this week to discuss this speaker and why you need to try it in your own home. A two hour audition at someone else's place just won't do it.

Just out of curiosity, you didn't indicate where you heard the CM10s,(in a retailer, someone else's home etc.)? In any case, of course, these are two different speakers of quite different designs. One thing I have learned over the years is that when your spending this kind of money, you really won't get an accurate picture of what they sound like until you get them in to your home in your environment and unlike many retailers, Axiom gives you that option. Also, if this is of concern to you, other than their top of their top of the line models, most of B&Ws speakers are now made in China. Axioms, of course, are built in Canada.

Perhaps those on this forum will be somewhat biased, however, with the design of the LFR1100s and the bigger soundstage(great for both movies and music) along with the electronics(DSP)included in the package, in my opinion anyway, the choice of the LFR1100s is a no brainer.

Casey01, I heard the CM10s2 at two different Best Buy Magnolia Design Centers. Where a speaker is built doesn't necessarily matter to me so long as it sounds good. After all, the iPhone is probably the most popular phone and it is buit in China as well, though it is nice when a company provides jobs for people in the company's country as in Axiom's case.
