I was listening to the Dvorak 8th Symphony included in Otmar Suitner's collection of all nine, originally on individual full-priced discs, but recently re-compiled as a 5-disc box listing for around $20. These are fine performances in fine sound, comparable to any available. Out of curiosity I checked to see what prices at which they were available and found this remarkable bargain at
J&R (which also has a $5.99 sale on many excellent Naxos discs). Dvorak's 7th, 8th and 9th(New World)symphonies, along with his Slavonic Dances and Cello Concerto, are certainly essential for a collection. The earlier symphonies aren't quite at the same level, but are interesting, especially when they're included almost for free.
