Hi: I am planning on starting a two-channel system from scratch, so I was looking for advice on a redbook c.d. player with volume control, so as to hook right up to an amp,no sacd, no tubes! I have found a Cary 308,there must be more?.Name some other brands please!($2K-$2.5K Can. Thanks, Huck

if you really wanted to go the "purist" route then perhaps you can just get a high quality cdp and a good passive volume control. It certainly would open up your options for cd players to stuff that is highly regarded but probbly doesnt have a volume control.
