problem with pro logic 2

when i watch a film and i set it to pro logic2 the sound from the surround left and right is very distorted and it make very hisee sound when sound one is talking which is very annoying i only time this doesnt happen is when there is a lound noise like a car crashing it mostly happen when some one is talking

Hard to say, have you checked all your connections? Have you calibrated your system? What dB levels do you have set for you receiver?

Why are you using PLII? Or are you talking about PLIIx?

It would help if you were to give a little more info on the system you have. Plus how it is set up and if you have calibrated it.

Have you done the calibrating with a spl meter?

What speakers are we talking about here. Are these Axioms?

I've noticed this on things like TV shows, especially where they're broadcast in either stereo or mono. I'm sure distortion exists in the source signal. The PL2 must decide that this distortion is "ambient" sounds and move them to the rear speakers.

Have you tried a true digital (Dolby Digital or DTS) source?
