I have a Kenwood vr507 receiver and will be upgrading in the future. I would like to buy the Q8's now vs. the Q4's, but am concerned with the 4 ohms rating. The receiver only lists 8-16 ohms. Can I get away with it or will I damage the receiver/speaker.

You will not have any problems with the QS8s. They are an easy load for the amplifier due to the overall spectrum of the impedance curve.
