Well about the only advantage of having a government run liquor retail system is that you can find their product/price list online if you Google for it. I can safely say that Unibroue is not available here. The domestic list is dominated by the major breweries, with just a few local micro brewery exceptions and the import list is pitiful. The only European imports are Becks and Stella and they are pretty much almost like mainstream in their commonness.
I'll check New Brunswick when I'm over there next week. it borders Quebec so it just might turn up.

Doesn't Unibroue make "la fin du monde" (my public school french tells me this means "the end of the world")? I had that once at the Casino in Hull, Que. Pretty darn tasty for 9% alc.
In Ontario, you can get it at "select" beer stores (also a monopoly here), but they'd probably have to dust off the case for you...the "buck a beer" brands run the show here. It also lists the brewer as "sleeman," which runs out of Ontario and is owned by Sapporo. Doesn't exactly sound authentic, does it?

Yep, Fin du Monde is by Unibroue.

They have quite a few very good onces, including a Scotch Ale called "Trois Pistoles" which can compete with McEwans (not 100%, but close).

Drinking the last of my 2005 tonight. Sigh. It has a lovely fruity flavor, with a nice alcohol content and a molasses nose. Nice finish, too.

You can tell if it's a Unibroue because it will have their logo on the cork and the cork topper (a stylized U) Just checked my bottles in the garage--good news! Looks like it is Unibroue. I like pleasant surprises.

Right on! Now if only my assumptions are correct... then again, doesn't really matter, does it? It's still darn good beer!

Yup, good beer. I've felt like I should save it for a special occasion. Dunno. Maybe I'll head over to Trader Joe's and see if they have more.
