Has anyone heard this a Yamaha RX V-2700 A/V Receiver with a set of axioms? If so, what are your impressions and likes/dislikes?

I've narrowed my receiver choices to this one and a denon 4306 or denon 4806CI

Any info would be great!

Hi, I am a Yami fan and am very pleased with my Yami/Axiom combo (except that I now need a bigger room, sound proofing, vibration control etc etc). While I don't know how the Denon's go, the big one for me was the 1080p/HDMI switching as I personnal want to feed evything into the Yami then pass the selected Video feed to the TV regardless of source format / connection.

Let me know if there are any specifics you would like to know!

Nathan

PS - The V2700 seems to be fussier than the V2600 from which I upgraded in regards to HDMI detection. I have not tested it fully but, you seem to have to turn on you HDMI device (in my case a HTPC connected with a DVI-HDMI cable) while the device is selected on the YAMI. Once the conneciton is established you can then switch to other devices and back again (you can even put to and from Hibernation). If I boot my HTPC first and THEN switch to it on the Yami I get no signal and the HDMI light does not come on.

While I don't have Axiom speakers yet, I do have the RX-V2700. I'm very pleased with it, absolutely no complaints at all. Sound quality driving a pair of 17 year old Mirage M760's is terrific (and that's in a lousy room as to proper speaker placement, etc.). Right now I have a Denon 2930CI for movies. Soundtracks absolutely rock.
I'm having a new house built, and when it's ready I'll probably be going with the M80's.
