Can anyone make a honest compare of this Axiom and Acoustic Research products?

In the 1960s, Acoustic Research was the leading brand of bookshelf speaker; indeed, Edgar Villchur along with Henry Kloss, developed the first successful acoustic suspension bookshelf speaker capable of deep bass reproduction. In later decades, however, after Villchur and Kloss left the company, AR went through a series of different speaker engineers, with rather uneven results. In recent years, AR's quality has improved.

Axiom has had the same engineer and designer for over 20 years, and that accumlated experience shows in the neutrality and natural sound that characterizes the M60Ti and its sister tower models. That said, it would be an interesting comarison for me as well. When I was in college, I owned a pair of AR speakers and it would be interesting to see how their current models sound.

The problem with them - only online availability. Which means you have to ship something back afterwards. Oh well..
