I noticed this morning on my way to work that the "really cheap" gas station near my house is now $4.0599 per gallon for REGULAR. The "really expensive" station near my office is $4.5599 for regular.

I'm sure glad I got rid of my Audi and bought a hybrid. Honestly though, even my hybrid uses more gas than I need. My commute is so short, a pure electric would be perfect for me.

Yeah, our cheap station is now $4.09 for regular. I suspect I will have to make a visit there this evening, too.

On Memorial Day, Regular went....DOWN to $3.99. (from $4.07)
It may be the beginning of a downward trend, or attempted subterfuge.

The expensive place went up a dime over night...$4.6599 now. The higher it goes, the faster we'll be able to buy electric cars again.

If I were you, I would get a "Zenn" Car, made right here in Canada. Stands for Zero Emissions No Noise. Ironically, the canadian government won't let them sell to Canada.

I know for sure they sell to the states, and probably California for sure.

spiff, you have a point there. It was when gas prices spiked in the 70s that the auto industry started producing more fuel-efficient cars (>40mpg Honda CVCC, anyone?).

Mazda 5 yesterday. We really liked it.
