hi Guys..

I have an HD DVD A3 and just bought a Yamaha RX-V2700,
the speaker Tv every thing is stet..
But i am un sure what is the best way to set sound from my A3 to the AVR.
i am using an HDMI cable b/t them.

i ask because i left every thing an default on A3 and AVR

Please note the the installer set up my Speakers and AVR thing like gain on the speakers, distance, wiring etc..

But when i put in my transformer HD DVD the sound was just O.k

i need to know what setting to set on my A3 and my AVR..
also which would better for me

to pass sound to my AVR
should i use HDMI or Bitstream/PCM using optical digital Cable

Please help..

If the receiver supports 5.1 PCM over HDMI (1.1), then your best option is HDMI. Make sure the A3 player is set properly to output multi-ch over HDMI.

Also make sure you select the audio program to be DolbyTrueHD on the disk (many HD-DVDs have standard DD5.1 by default).
