Do you run with Audyssey on? In my case, I had to turn it off for it to sound "normal." It's the only BluRay for which I've had to make the adjustment to this point... odd.

There must be something seriously wrong with the disc or your system. I have watched/listened to the regular disc on my Axioms and the Blu-Ray version on my friend's super expensive home theatre system ($25K) and we both agreed that this is one of the best sounding concerts Rush has released. Hope you can solve the problem.

Hey, Rush fans, my favorite blogger, Chez, has posted the best shout out to Rush that I have ever heard. Read it here.

Nope, I don't run Audyssey. Manually calibrated with a meter. The Rush disc sounded so bad, I actually leaped from my chair looking for blown equipment and went and grabbed a bunch of movies and other stuff to test it with to make sure everything was going. I probably have 40 or 50 BRDs, and a handful of music ones. So far this is the only one sounding this bad. It's like someone help up a mic in the middle of the space, added an extra crappy reverb effect and compressed the heck out of everything.

I just got the Blu-ray concert in the mail yesterday, and I listened to some songs today. I agree, the picture and direction are great. No more excessively fast editing like on Rio - there's plenty of great angles from which to see all the musicianship properly.
At first, my sound was only coming out of the center channel, sub, and a little out of the surrounds. I put my ear up to the L and R fronts, and nothing was coming out. I tried changing the sound output via the disc, but all it wanted to pipe out was the DTS mix. I checked my prepro, and it was set to Dolby Pro Logic, movie type. My Outlaw 990 doesn't do the lossless DTS, whatever that's called, but it does older DTS, and when I set it to DTS, then my sound greatly improved.
I suspect you've already checked this out, but, StuntGibbon, have you made sure that your receiver is set to a DTS setting?
