We watched
The Fall last night. We had seen the trailer somewhere and decided to rent it while browsing for a movie.
The movie was excellent. Basically, it's about a little girl in a hospital who befriends an injured actor, and as they become friends he proceeds to tell her a story. The movie is both the 'real life' of being in the hospital, and of 'the story' that he tells her.
The visuals of 'the story' are mind-blowing. Absolutely stunning. I don't have enough adjectives to describe it. It won several awards for cinematography, and I can totally see why. There are many parts where you could advance frame-by-frame and each frame would work as a photograph hanging in an art gallery. Seriously, it's that good.
I'm very tempted to buy the BluRay of it just for the demo material. Anyone with a HDTV ought to at least rent it, just to really show off what kind of colors & texture your HDTV is capable of.
Watch the trailer on the movie's website, it provides a good glimpse of what you will see...
The Fall It's most definitely going on my
highly recommended list.
