I enjoyed Pillars of the Earth very much. If you do too, there is a year-old followup novel called World Without End . Ken Follett's web site refers to it as a sequel, but it's not really a continuation because it takes place 200 years after "Pillars." However, it does involve the cathedral and city of Knightsbridge and the offspring of some of the characters in "Pillars."

Another interesting and offbeat series of novels you might consider is the Egyptian Series by Wilbur Smith comprising River God, The Seventh Scroll, Warlock, and The Quest. If anyone had told me, before I read them, that I would enjoy novels with an Egyptian eunuch as the hero, I would have thought them nuts.

So, last week I went to the bookstore and wanted to buy a book on Charles Schulz, but didn't want to spend twenty bucks. Instead I picked up Robert Ludlum's "The Bourne Identity." Not the typical book I go for, but I remember a coworker years back telling me about it and how different it is from the movie. And, it is very different from the film. I'm glad I saw the movie first otherwise I would've been hyper-critical of how things were left out and/or changed. I'm still amazed the book was written over twenty years ago and it's taken this long to adapt it to film. Also, a good example of how the movie is different, but very good in its own right.

I would like to read that at some point. Think you'll read the whole series?
