Finally watched Seabiscuit. Once you got past the low points in the movie - it was pretty good.

Have some friends over for beer, lasognia, and to watch the new Start Trek on Bluray on the big screen. The Axioms will be rockin da house.

It’s what he didn’t eat before the beer. I also watched “Star Trek” with my dad and a friend. I’m glad that I was able to stay almost completely ignorant of what it was about or how it was done. Very impressed with what they did with it. Looks like we’ll have to wait until 2011 for the sequel.

Frankly, I'm surprised it's that soon. As I recall, the older movies had a longer turnaround time in between.

Looks like I'm hangin' with the in crowd. Watched Startrek tonight. They did a good job. I don't think they nailed Bones the way some people raved, but the characters were quite consistant with what they were in the original series as was the movie: space cowboys.
I got a kick out of all the lines from the original series they worked in.
TNG remains my favorite series of the brand.
Edit: come to think of it, they incorporated all the stuff from the original series: Captain Kirk fighting (or in this case running away from) aliens on a strange planet, lots of shoot 'em up, expendible crew members... Just like the good old days.

I could put this in the bargains thread, I guess, but I was at Target yesterday and saw that they had the Blu-ray Star Trek for $19.99, which includes BD, DVD, and digital copy.
I saw it in the theaters with St_Patguy in Arizona. His local multiplex actually had good sound. I remember the mind-meld scene being impressive.
