I agree with you, CV. While Rushmore remains one of my favorite movies, I find some of his other movies entertaining, but somewhat lacking. I don't know what it is. Almost like he is trying to be too thoughtful and/or off-beat. I imagine film majors ooh and aah over his movies while general audiences scratch their heads.

I think I need to rewatch his movies.

And, yes, I've got True Grit waiting to watch and Blu-ray. Wanted to save it for my vacation during Christmas break.

Watched the 3rd Jurassic Park movie. All 3 of them were good.

I've been trying out It's Garry Shandling's Show. It's not bad, but it's dated. Shandling has some good material, but the acting isn't great, and the overall writing and directing can't compete with modern fare. Still, I'm going to keep watching. So far there have been a couple of moments that definitely feel out-of-place these days. Slight anti-gay bias, and the riff on Asians was pretty lame. Both were pretty mild, really, but it still felt weird given where we are now. I also have The Larry Sanders show to watch, but I want to finish this whole series before I start that one.

Cars 2

Decent. I can see why people weren't bowled over by it. It did kind of drag. Very pretty, as usual.

CV, I saw that in the theater and felt the same way. While still good, it felt like it was missing something.

Re-watched The Social Network. I still really enjoyed it. I just got freaked out by the credits, though. I didn't realize the girl who played Erica Albright is Rooney Mara, the actress playing Lisbeth Salander in the about-to-be-released The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Talk about a transformation. I'm looking forward to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo even though I haven't read the books. The trailer was one of the coolest trailers of all-time. The Social Network had a really great trailer, too.

I just finished reading that book and am looking forward to the movie. I like David Fincher's directing and am interested to see how he handles The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
