Nah. Glass painted with opaque paint (like Delirium Tremens) is actually better than brown glass. \:\)

Now I'm paranoid about Newcastle's clear glass bottles.

Ooh, I could do an experiment where I leave one bottle in the sun to see what that does.

I bet it makes it ... warmer.

Beer of the Month award goes to the Triple Karmeliet I had with Ken last night at Brouwer's Cafe in Seattle.

The beer and company were wonderful, as always.

Agreed! Anything to block the UV.

Sorry Corona fans, I'm in the "If you have to add a lime to it, just to make it taste good, then it's not good beer" camp and yes, what is that.......aroma anyways?

On the more positive front, we are finally, after years of me griping about nothing but big brewery choices around here, getting some different brands in our liquor stores from microbreweries and from overseas. Still even a percentage of the variety some of you seem to get but it's a good start.

Been mixing in two bottles of new beers every time I stop in. So far my favorite new find is the British "Fuller's ESB". A common find elsewhere, I'm sure but a nice find for me. On the cleaner tasting side of things, I'm pretty sure the next real hot day will have me picking up some "Bitburger Premium Beer". The Germans have really perfected the "it's too hot to do anything but lounge and drink" beers, in my opinion.

I really like Bitburger. It's quite dry compared to Bavarian lagers, though.

Oh thank you for recording the name of the beer, Tom. I couldn't remember for the life of me.

Yup, Tom and I had an enjoyable dinner and a couple of beers Tuesday evening.

Drinking on some Flying Dog Double Dog Double Pale Ale. 11.5% alcohol and oh so yummy.
