I must say soccer doesn't hold the only Oscars in sports. Derek Jeter's latest attempt at acting was quite believeable till the replay showed the ball hit the end of the bat.

All sports are guilty of it. I do think that the instances in soccer are hyperbolized, and there's an agenda in North America. The first sport that most people refer to for acting is soccer, and most don't even watch the sport. I agree it's a problem, but not to the level that's portrayed in the media.

I LOVE hockey, and I think the acting is worse than what it is in soccer.

Hockey has it's fair share of Oscar nominees....that clown on Philadelphia(Carsilly-O) and the other guy on Montreal(LaPierre) would give De Niro a run for his money.

Hockey at least will penalize a player for acting while Soccer, well, they go down without even being touched by the player and the Refs buy it. I guess it really boils down to poor refing. If they wouldn't call that stuff the players wouldn't be so willing to act.

In Formula 1, such fake incidents are impossible.

Unless you're a second string driver for Renault.
