John, it's easy to disagree with you, but difficult to be right .

So my wife and I went on our annual joint Christmas shopping excursion. (Do some shopping, have a drink with lunch, shop some more, have a few drinks at dinner, do a whole bunch more shopping until closing.) In passing I mentioned the price/performance tradeoff and my decision on the Velodyne over the Hsu. She replied, "Well that seems dumb." And this is from someone who still doesn't see what all the high-def hubbub is all about.

So I ordered the Hsu and will send back the Velodyne.

(Okay, a post with no particular point, but I was so pleasantly shocked that I had to share.)

Nice! I think you'll be quite pleased with the Hsu. Make sure to report back.

Seems like a wise decision. Do you have a trial period on the Velodyne? What would be nice is for you to keep the Velodyne until you get the HSU and compare both. Then you can really know if it is worth the extra $$$.

I would do as Bruno suggests, but then again I can never turn down a chance to do some A/B testing.
