So I read the article but what wasn't clear to me was, is it that much better on consoles? I usually prefer to play these types of games on my PC but I could go PS3.

Nope. They are all about the same but have flaws in different areas. Unlike Fallout: Vegas where the PC version was superior. Neither games are fitted for a keyboard and mouse IMO. Vegas was monkey ass. Luckily I had a 360 controller I could use for the PC. Navigating menus was horrible as was the large control scheme. Just didn't fit well.

Apparently on the PS3 version there is game breaking save glitch when the save file exceeds a certain number of MB's. The game basically becomes unplayable with framerate and loading issues.

Sigh, Perhaps I shall just wait until things get patched and/or the modders have at the PC version.

I have no idea what happened dean. I got out into the open at about 1:30am after the midnight release and the fell asleep. The next day I just started up and ran north to river wood.

I've yet to figh a dragon on the main quest. I found two dragon shout word things in the dungeons but have no idea how to use them...

I fought a dragon on one of the first quests I did. I ended up going to Whiterun to sells stuff since I had run the people in Riverwood out of money and in hopes of finding a house since I couldn’t get a lead on one in Riverwood. I had already done a quest for the trader and his sister in Riverwood which turned out to be a prerequisite for a quest in Whiterun which lead to fighting a dragon with the help of the town guard making it easy once I figured out how to fight it. That lead to an offer to buy a house and also gave me Lydia who follows me around or stays at my house if I tell her to. Since I got the dragon’s soul it gave me use of the one dragon shout I’ve found so far.

There may have been one drawback to fighting the dragon. Before that I never saw one since the opening. Now twice I’ve seen them flying overhead and circling me. I’m not sure if they meant to attack or not since both times Lydia and I hid in the woods until they flew away. It’s nice that she’s a thief, plus that she didn’t start sounding all pissy when we hid from the dragons like she does sometimes when hiding to long from lesser bad guys.

The guy at work has fought several of the dragons. At first he couldn't figure out why they wouldn't descend, but apparently they only come down to attack when you're in a large enough area of flat ground. According to him. I have only fought the one dragon that gets you Lydia. I haven't seen them flying around in my ordinary travels yet.

Well that would explain them not attacking us since there was nowhere nearby for them to land.

Got the guide. Amazing resource. 656 pages. After getting it though I still find it easier occasionally to alt-tab out of the game and google something. smile
