Regina Spektor - Live in London (Blu-ray)

Hooray, it's finally here! I've only watched her perform maybe four of the songs so far. So far there hasn't been any conversation with the audience, so I'm hoping it's not all cut out. That's half the fun. Looks decent and sounds nice so far. Maybe not the best out there, but it's not embarrassing itself, either.

My wife was watching an HGTV show (G, there, fellas) about auctioning off stuff in your house to buy something new. The couple in this one wanted a new BIG SCREEN TV for $2000! So they were getting rid of a bunch of stuff, including this gigantic old RP set. And the wife gives up her grandmother's jewelry box and a collection of fine jewelry. Which sells for $50.

Yeesh.

Then I saw the BIG SCREEN TV they got at the end. Couldnt' have been more than a 46", which means not only did she give away a family heirloom to buy a frickin' TV, they got ripped on buying the TV, too.

Mmm. Values.

I've been selling stuff on Craigs List that I don't use around the house in order to buy stuff to fix up my house, like new ceramic tile and the vinyl I put on the kitchen floor. But, I didn't need the corner shower enclosure, nor the 55 gallon fish tank and stand. Now, does anyone out there need a slightly used wedding dress? grin

I bought "The sound of Music" on blu-ray today and I'm going to watch it tonight. Made in 1965 and I've never seen/heard it before.

The blu-ray "The Sound of Music" has 7.1 audio. I'm listening in 3.1 and it sounds very good from this perspective.

I gave my wife the DVD of Sound of Music a few years ago and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the soundtrack.

I have to get around to watching my copy of The Sound of Music, too. I'm sure I watched pieces of it as a kid, but I don't remember anything very well.

Just watched In Bruges. It was decently entertaining, had some good moments, and I don't even particularly like any of the actors. Also, most of the movie is mixed fairly low, then the music at the end overwhelms. I kind of liked that.

Black Dynamite

Pretty funny, given its limitations as a parody. The audio was actually pretty good.

I watched The Expendables tonight. Gah, what an awful movie. Avoid.

My friend and I agreed we needed a palette cleanser after that. She had never seen Abre los ojos, so I put in that DVD. Much better.
