I have been seeing this commercial a lot lately. A 2.1 system that magically turns your home into a home theater.

The part with the tv sound engineer is priceless. When the pan his equipment, Bose should have at least showed product placement of one of their own speakers.

My dad bought the hype and have this "2.1" system, bought it about 5 years ago. It does sound better than their TV speakers, but better than a proper 5.1 system? Not at all.

I think this is part of the reason Bose has so many followers... Their product does sound MUCH better than "tv" speakers, so the incremental improvement over tv speakers is pretty large.. However, as most of us see it.. For what you're paying for any of the Bose systems you could get MUCH more bang for your buck. However, to the regular person with so much advertising saying "Bose is the best", as well as the almost common perception that Bose "is" the best... Well, another Bose thread is born

I haven't heard this particular CineMate 2.1 system which is the Gemstone speakers, bass module and I believe there is some small processing unit too.

And yes Bose advertising is really convincing. They hit all the key words.
