Somehow I missed the release of her album, so I ordered it. In the meantime, this super-weird music video will keep me super-soked.

Her sound reminds me of Mazzy Star. I like it.

Gawd, I hope that was a miss type!

Nope. You know, soked because she's Soko.

I keep forgetting to get any Mazzy Star. What album should I get?

I'd suggest this to start with. Good all the way through.

Thanks, Sean. Is it bad that even though it's only $2.99 in MP3 that I ordered the $12.59 CD?

No, because I would've done the same thing.

What do you get when you put Eric Clapton and Wynton Marsalis together? Multiple eargasms.

Here they are playing Layla

Soko - I Thought I Was an Alien
Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See
Deerhoof - Deerhoof vs Evil
St. Vincent Strange Mercy
Ohbijou - Metal Meets

Sean, thanks for the Mazzy Star recommendation. I'm liking the album.

I'm happy with Soko's debut album. Her voice is still very cute, but it's somehow a really different feeling cute from her EP.

I haven't listened to the other albums enough. On first listen, they seem pleasant, but not capturing my full attention. I figured I owed St. Vincent another chance. I listened to samples of her previous album and didn't end up purchasing it. I figured I'd go ahead and take the plunge on this one and give her a fair shake. Ohbijou has some really beautiful music, but for the most part I can't seem to get full involved. I dragged my feet on getting this Deerhoof album. When they announced another one, I figured it was time.

Glad you like it, Charles!

I, too, have the St. Vincent album. It was good, but didn't grab me. I'll give it another go this weekend.
