I wouldn't say that. If Murph finds out, you'll have some 'splainin' to do!!!

3 weeks is a long wait for your first pair of QS8's. It's only been 4 days. frown

For wire placement, I'm thinking about going down wall on inside of wall, coming out of wall behind base board, into indention made into drywall down through hole drilled through hardwood floor into basement. All hidden by baseboard.

The hard part will probably be fishing the wire up, or down through wall. Wall has old blown-in insulation, so going through that won't be a problem. It's all crumbly.

I ordered 60 foot of wire, 30 foot per side, which should be enough. If not I have about 2 pieces of 10 foot laying around I can splice into it for added length.

But it doesn't match the walls!

Per JohnK, that type of prismatic disharmony is well-researched and known to cause audio signals to develop tiny but audible distortions, adversely affecting audio quality.

I think he recommended 1950s era tube amps to address this properly.

Matches close enough. Looks much better without the flash to distort everything. Last year I upgraded my camera from my phone to a $50 Insignia POS from Best Buy. Time to upgrade to something better, but I can't afford what I want ATM.

But behind the walls, I've coated the speaker wires with vasoline, then wrapped them in tin-foil. This should counter-balance any harmonic abnormalities caused by color imbalances.

And if that fails, I've purchased a large quantity of ear plugs for those people that can't live with it.

I'm thinking about constructing some temporary adjustable stands for the QS8's, just so I can try different locations and heights, before deciding on the final location for them. Instead of putting holes all over the walls, or just settling for the first location I mount them at.

The 2 obvious locations in my room, would be to mount them as Wides, or close together as Rears (Prolly about 3 feet apart). There isn't a location to mount them as Surrounds. Or use them as Wides and purchase 1 more for a Rear. Not sure what you would call that. A 3.1 + 2 Wides + 1 Rear.

I like that idea best. Forget about the temporary stands. I'll just mount them as Wides, and purchase one for a Rear later.
