I live in a small apartment with a combined living room and dinning area. The HT takes up around 12' L x 9' wide. I already have a VP-100 that I got from a friend, which is what made me see how bad my current speakers are (old Onkyo HTIB).

I'm thinking of getting either the M3 or the M22 speakers for the main Left and Right positions. They will be driven (for now) by a Denon AVR-590. What would you recommend?

Welcome, LoKi!

What type of movies or music do you listen to? Will you have a sub? How loud do you like to listen?

Either would work in that space. If you have the space and the $ I would go for the M22 as it has a better bass response.

I would go with the M22s, as they are a better tonal match to the VP100, but if you don't have the space for them the M3s are no slouch either, just not quite the same sound to them.

Thanks to all for your responses. The system will be used for 90% movies. I do have a Klipsch sub. Can't crank it up too much because of the neighbors, but every once in a while I go pretty loud on it.

Thanks again!

I have a pair of M3's and love them but the M22+sub is better all around setup. If you have a need for a pure stereo setup then I'd recommend the M3's as they really do shine on their own.

Yeah, knowing that you have a sub, my choice would be the M22s!

My vote is M22s with or without a sub.
