How can you tell the old .5" voicecoil tweeters from the 1" voicecoil ones? I recently did an A/B comparison with my M22tis and noticed something strange. The M2s sounded more "muffled". The woofers certainly look different (My M2is have an older design woofer), but the tweeters look the same aside from a slighly different logo. I know you could probably tell by removing the tweeters from the cabinet and looking at the back, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Mike, the 1" voicecoil tweeters have four supporting arms on the central diffuser; the older tweeter had three.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Interesting... these must be the 1" voicecoil ones then. I didn't think the sound difference made by an extra woofer would be that significant!

I think all M2i's have the new tweeter -- M2ti's had the old tweeter.

i believe bridgman is correct
moving to the m2i brought the better tweeter design
the QS4's also moved to those 1 inch coil tweeters
