Are you looking for a home theater system that defines loud, clean and accurate? Do you have a large space where you want to make movies come alive and parties truly rock? Look no further. Axiom’s Epic 80-800 home theater system delivers across the board.
The sonic anchors of this system are the critically acclaimed M80 v2 towers that transform musical recordings into live performances and the earthmoving EP800 subwoofer that delivers a truly audiophile ultra-deep bass experience. Whether you are watching the latest action flick or a casual get-together has turned into a dance party, this system produces sound that is loud, clean, and accurate.
No matter if the music is rock, pop, hip-hop, classical, jazz, opera, or movie soundtracks, the M80-800 remains true to the musical source and delivers slam and impact for rock, or refined and spacious vocals and orchestral sound.
Let’s break it down. The 39.5-inch-tall M80 main towers, with six drivers, including dual 6.5-inch woofers, dual 5.25-inch midranges and dual tweeters, achieve high dynamic range and excellent, clean, high-volume performance with an airy, spacious soundstage and neutral, high-accuracy music reproduction. According to Brian Kahn of AudioRevolution,
“The M80s have the sonic chops to reproduce sound that keeps up in quality with your high-definition picture.”
The EP800 DSP 800-watt subwoofer is the deepest (down to 13 Hz anechoic response), the smoothest (the DSP controls every frequency from 13 Hz to 150 Hz never deviating more than 1 db through the entire range) and the cleanest loudest bass possible with no distortion.
The center channel is the all-new VP180. The VP180 center's six drivers and two ports have exceptional power handling and wide dispersion for fine dialog intelligibility and a seamless front soundstage.
Coupled with the EP800 sub, the Epic 80 will handle hundreds of watts per channel with music or movie soundtracks. The QS8 quadpolar surrounds, with four drivers each, deliver an astonishing sense of envelopment in the ambient surround sound field with movies or music.
This system is available in 5.1, 6.1, 7.1, 7.2 and 7.4 Dolby Digital configurations. We have the experience and expertise to help you choose the perfect system!
(Note: the M80 tower's impedance is 4 ohms. Big rooms call for a separate power amplifier for the M80 towers. An A/V receiver rated to drive 4-ohm loads without overheating or shutting down is recommended. Call Axiom for recommended receivers or amplifiers that will drive the 4-ohm M80s.)

Industry Reviews of the Epic 80 Home Theater Family
I have owned Axiom speakers since the late 90's and early 2000 when Axiom was still a secret LOL. I had the Epic 80 – 800 7.2 until a thief wanted them for free. The best thing about Axiom is everything is top notch, even their staff treats you like an individual not an order number. If I had to sum it up into one phrase that describes Axiom it would be something one of their staff members said to me when I ordered my Epic 80 system one piece at a time, and that was quote “Here at Axiom it is the customer that makes us strive for the best product, because the customer makes us who we are” end quote. I won the auction on Sunday and the item I won arrived at my home and was installed by Tuesday morning. The shipping was cheaper than instant online software delivery. I think Axiom should be THX certified because they produce crystal clear sound throughout the entire sound spectrum. They sound better than any THX speaker I have listened too. Thank you guys for a great product at an awesome price.

After 3 years I'm still absolutely loving every single thing about this system. This system is EXACTLY what the name suggests, simply put this system is EPIC!! and I would recommend it to anyone craving great sound! - and I'm definitely no sound technician so I know I most-likely haven't fully tapped into the complete Epic experience yet, due to a lack of technical knowledge; that's okay though because it's still KICKS ASS!! This part of the review is about the amazing customer service at Axiom. They came out to open their shop on a Friday night when I was driving through so that I have a look at the Sub that wasn't working properly at the time (hey it was the very first batch of 800s.. so completely understandable). This was on a Friday night after 10:30!! you're just not going to find that kind of superior customer service than that! ANYWHERE! And when they realized that the first generation of Subs could be a little wonky, they asked me to send the 1st gen. Sub back and I got my new and improved sub the day after I shipped the first one back! Great Products even better customer service! "Axiom Lifer!"

I received my new set of speakers on Wednesday. As you may remember from our conversation, I got the M80s, QS8s and VP150. I was certainly hoping that upgrading my speakers with Axiom's full line would make a big difference in my audio system and my hopes have been far exceeded. In general, I'm so impressed with the uniformity of the total sound field. The sound is natural. The BIGGEST impression that they've made upon me is their clarity and detail. Listening to the "Diane Schurr and the Count Basie Orchestra" CD, you can, for instance, hear the 'pluck' of the bass player's finger across the string. The bass response of the system as a whole is never 'gimmicky'. While watching a film, when there's action, explosions, etc., it makes your heart race. At the same time you can be listening to a vocal ensemble like Chanticleer and when the bass section makes an entrance, the bass response is gentle, defined and natural. Listening to SACD material, all I can say is WOW!!! The imaging of these speakers is like nothing I've ever heard. Listening to 2 channel material, I STILL get up check to see that the sound is NOT coming out of the center channel speaker. The imaging is so perfect and as you said during our conversation the evening before I placed my order, the off axis ability of these speakers is amazing. I can even be in the other room and get a sense of the spatial quality of the sound. As the reviews often mention, I also get a sense that the speakers disappear. The QS8s are amazing, also. I've watched a number of things where I felt the effect from the screen pass over me and out the back of the room. The VP150 is too large to be accommodated on the shelves beneath my plasma but that's ok. I've got it on a stand in front of the TV. It sounds TERRIFIC and I'm much more interested in function that form. I'm rediscovering my music collection, seriously. I'm hearing things that I didn't know existed on certain recordings. I must say, with some of the operatic recordings I have, the voices seem a bit too forward. As I spend time listening, I'm thinking that this is a 'fault' of the recording technician for those particular recordings as I have other operatic recordings that are spectacular. It's my feeling that these speakers are "unforgiving". With a less than very good recording, you get less than very good sound but on the other side, when it's terrific, what this system does is jaw dropping. I can't imaging it getting much better. Once again, my hat is off to Axiom and to all of you who provide such great great service. I appreciate all the time you've spent of the phone answering my questions. Again, Axiom's service is unequalled. My audio system is now mostly Axiom (a1400, M80, QS8, VP150 and last but not least, EP-600) and I couldn't be happier. I've found the reviews and your own write ups and conversations with you to be right on the money. Rest assured that I've been spreading the good news about Axiom.

I absolutely love my axiom speakers. I have the epic 80-500-150 QS8 x 4 with NAD T775 and Emotiva XPA-2. The clarity and timbre of the music is addictive. I use music to relax after work. Axiom has elevated the music listening experience to a new level. The home theater sound is so realistic and spacious that I prefer to watch movies at home. I am currently planning a 5.1 audio system in my living room using m60's VP-150, QS4 x2, and Marantz audio. My family all has a new appreciation for music.

n my limited experience (I've only had them for a week), they have exceeded my expectations. I am by no means an audiophile, whatever that means, but I'm fairly particular about my sound system. The Epic 80 has proven itself capable both as a HT and Music system. Product purchase and delivery was "uneventful" which is exactly what I wanted and you did not disappoint. All in all, so far, I'm very happy with my purchase and will recommend you highly when the subject of HT and speakers comes up, or even just to brag.

I think this is my second review, but I just had to do it because I am still amazed by these speakers. I've had them for two years now and the sound these speakers put out ROCKS! I have six 300 watt amps powering these plus another sub. I have the worst home theater room anyone has every done a setup in. I don't mean it's ugly, but it is perfectly square, tiled floor, and two walls are plaster and these speakers still sound incredible. Recently I had the wires behind one of the surrounds cross and the amp tripped. I thought to myself, "oh great there goes the speaker". Nope, the amp blew instead and the speaker is perfectly fine. Lucky for me I had a spare amp to continue enjoying the sound.

I've had some time to hook everything up and play with speaker placement. I am most impressed with the system I ordered from you. I read on the forums where some thought that the M80's were a bit too bright, however I don't have a problem. After shopping around a bit and listening to a variety of setups, I was amazed at how dull and lifeless the majority of speakers sounded until I got into the upper end (which had a handsome price tag to go with the presence the speakers could produce). I wound up getting my entire 7.1 speaker system (with an upgrade to the EP500) for less than what I would have spent for a pair of mains. Not only does this sytem rock, it does it with no effort. After watching "Ray", this system literally left me holding the remote wondering who I'm going to invite over next. It's inspiring. I wanted to add a speaker placement tip which proved to me to be most helpful. Since there are so many unique parameters to every installation, I wanted a way to play with my surround speakers to see what worked best before punching holes in the wall. I (temporarily) mounted my four surrounds on adjustable light stands which are available at any hardware store (Loews, Home Depot, Ace hardware, etc). They're very steady with a tripod base and easy to move around. Also, they allow for an infinite height adjustment anywhere from 3' to over 6'). I ordered the wall mount brackets but after finding my sweet spots, I decided to mount my surrounds on stands at about 5.5' instead.

I own a pair of M80ti's, a VP150, two pairs of QS8's, and two EP500's, not to mention Axiom Speaker cable and Subwoofer interconnects. You guys truly rule and are the best thing in Hi Fi, High End, Home Theater and Audio gear. In addition to that, your customer service is flat out second to none. Thanks for everything,
I purchased the Epic80-500 7.1 system and I must say this setup beats ANY comparible system I tested in the stores by a BIG margin. They're a great set of speakers and in a "bang for the buck" test beat anything I could have bought locally at twice the price. You folks have done a great job. It also amazes me that it took only 4 days to get Axiom speakers from half way around the world but every other component has taken from between 3 and 14 weeks to get from the other side of Australia! Individually: - The VP150 produces crisp clear dialog and blends nicely with the M80's. - While the QS8's had to be ceiling mounted due to restrictions in the room they still manage to blend in very well and have a great frequency response. The envelopment of sound with decent DTS ES Discrete 6.1 soundtracks (e.g. Lord of the Rings) works really well and managed to almost sonically disappear despite the placement restrictions. I've watched movies where I've had to pause it several times as I swore that the tap was dripping in another room when it was actually on the soundtrack. - The M80's are brilliant from everything from music to movies and has a stunning response. There's nothing more I can say that Audioholics hasn't already. - The EP500 is far and away the "star performer" of the system. The amount of clean, tight LFE that can be pumped from this baby is nothing short of incredible. The couch shakes, the windows rattle, the cat flees in terror and it's only at 14 volume! It's both tight and musical which is something that's really hard to find. In terms of positioning the EP500, it's interesting that while frequencies under 80Hz can't be localised, the shock wave can :)

I just got the system all put together and I am very impressed....words do not describe my excitement! This system is hands down the best sound I have ever heard. Still tuning it in for the room, but right out of the box it is amazing. My Emotiva DMR-1 loves these speakers. Thank you for your assistance and advice - the EP500 was definitely the right choice. Best regards,
Bob R., ID
Being a lover of both movies and music, finding a solid middle ground that gave great punch for music and amazing lows for movies has proven to be challenging. I compared this set to the AV123 Rockets and Polk LSIs. Definately more revealing thean both, the Epic 80 made no compromise between movies and music, lending itself easily to both formats. SACD in particular sings on this setup. I found the POLKs were too laid back for home theater, and the Rockets too thin for music. I have been excited to listen to my Axioms every day that I have had them (almost two years now!), and I cannot say that I have even considered anything else I have heard to date for less than TWICE the price I paid for these. Ordering online was a breeze, shipping speed and packing materials we both top notch, and the fit and finish is BEAUTIFUL. DO NOT HESITATE to demo these speakers, after all, you only live once. :)

"awesome sound quality, got the entire epic 80 set, dramatically improved the sound of my home theater. Incredible sound - worth the price!"

Dear Axiom Audio, It's been three weeks since my M80's, VP150, and QS8's arrived and I am extremely pleased with my decision to give Axiom a chance to meet my listening needs. I have been auditioning speakers for the past year looking for that 'right' sound. I listened to many different models from well known manufacturers and narrowed it down to two. Before making my final decision I thought I would give Axiom a try given the many excellent reviews I've read on different AV related internet forums. I'm glad I did. When my speakers arrived I was surprised at their weight. And although the cabinets are not wood veneer the fit and finish is excellent. I hooked them up to my Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi, got them dialed in, and was immediately impressed at the sound that filled my room. During the past three weeks I have spent many hours listening to music and watching movies and my Axioms keep sounding better. I don't know if it's the so called 'break in period' or my ears are getting accustomed to the excellent sound they provide. The highs, mids, and lows all combine to give me that 'right' sound I was searching for at a price that can't be matched by anything else I auditioned. I'm looking forward to many years of enjoying my Axioms. A very satisfied customer,
Gary Z., WI
Thank you for the very quick service (AWSUME). I have them hooked up and WOW I can't believe my receiver could sound this good. I am very impressed! I am having some friends over to audition them over the weekend, they have been waiting for somebody to get them and want to hear them. I suspect you will be seeing some more orders soon.... Thanks again!!!!
Craig H., MN
Thank you very much for the incredible service every step of the way. I spent yesterday setting it up, and last night listening. I'm very pleased with the product, and with your organization's attention to detail. Best Regards,
Chris J., CO
System was delivered on-time and in perfect condition. I hooked up everything and the system already did 12 hours of stereo listening. I am enjoying them to the maximum. Thanks for a great service.

I heard a friend's m22s and they were amazing. I figured I would go for the epic 80 minus the subwoofer (I just built one not too long ago!) When I cranked up the center channel, I was amazed...the imaging was superb and the power and clarity were amazing. Cranked up the Qs8s and was amazed at the presence they gave to my track. I dont have them mounted properly yet, but that is not too far behind. I connected the M80s and was amazed at the sound and especially the bass, large bass was not necessary for me, I built a 1000watt 15" subwoofer in a huge box not too long ago. Overall, an awesome deal for awesome speakers...Thanks Axiom!
Zacharia S., TX
I received the speakers and it is perform like a dream. Thank you very much for your support. You are the best! I wish that all of the customer rep. can be just like you.Sincerely,
Dany N., FL
First glances reveal a beautiful finish on all of the speakers; I couldn't get over the quality of the exterior as well as the binding posts!!! My thanks for the excellent customer service, especially Norean (I hope I spelled that right), who was very helpful in your billing department. Thank you again,
Chris L., CA
I just wanted to take a few minutes to let you know how utterly impressed I am with your speakers. I recently purchased your Epic 80 Home Theater System and was quite frankly, shocked. I had high expectations but in my wildest dreams I never thought it would sound this good. I powered them with a Onkyo TX-NR901 receiver and the sound is nothing short of amazing. My family and I no longer simply watch a movie, we experience it. We feel it. We are a part of it. I seriously doubt that I will ever again go to a theater. There's simply no need. You're to be commended for producing a truely superior product at a reasonable price. Bravo!
Tim Y., MD
Just to let you know I got the shipment. - The speakers are just BEAUTIFUL. You should make this cherry flavor your default color. - Please pass this along to whoever: I'm using them with an ARCAM receiver (AVR200) and the sound is incredibly detailed, crisp, accurate.. (ran out of synonyms) -- In short, stunning. You should definitely add Arcam to your list of highly recommended amps for the M80's. Also, in my opinion the 80s sound so much better than the 60s and so I'm very glad I upgraded. I wish I could stay in the US and be your reference. Thank you so much for your great product and 1-on-1 service. Keep on redefining the way people buy audio gear!!!All the best,
Oren A., CA
I really enjoy the Axiom speakers. They sounded awesome. Aside from the speakers, your service is excellent. I will tell my friends about your products. Thanks.
Don B., AZ
I got the EPIC 80 set today...I spent about 5 hours setting them up, but boy was it worth it. All I can say is...WOW. They look great and sound great...and I am not even coming close to pushing this set to it's potential. Thanx,
Wow! I cannot believe how great they sound. I hear things I did not know existed in the music (I started with Diana Krall/Stepping Out, then Joni Mitchell/Clouds, then Miles Davis/Sketches From Spain, then Z.Z. Top /Greatest Hits--all on cd. Amazing. LOUD and clear. You don't realize how loud it is until you go to the other side of the house--and its still clear. This morning, I played an old album, David LaFlamme/White Bird, and again I hear things I've never heard in the music. Then I played a Stanley Jordan cd I have. I did not want to have to go to work today! I plan to sneak home at lunch and see how the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica play on the new system. I suspect I will not be disappointed. I can't wait to get the speakers going and watch some dvds. Thank you for making such great speakers at such reasonable prices. Sincerely,
Bill E., TX
You have been more than helpful with this purhcase. The service from your company has been excellent. I would also like to make note of your great web-site. Very very user friendly. Thanks again,
Greg Y., IL
I'm enjoying it already. I paired the speaker system up with a new Denon AVR-3805 receiver and DVD-2910 DVD player. I was extremely happy with the fit and finish of all the Axiom components. The quick delivery was impressive as well. It only took 3 days from Canada to South Georgia down here in the U.S.
Bill M., GA
System is definately kicking a**, there's plenty of room filling bass when subwoofer crossover is set at max. I highly recommend the movie Pearl Harbor when testing Hi-Fi during the Japanese invasion scene. Kill Bill 1 and 2, 2Fast and 2Furios, Star Wars 4and 5, All of the Lord of the Rings, and The Last Samurai are excellent choices as welll.
Arvin D., FL
My Epic 80 arrived safely and I had it hooked up last night and I am already enjoying it. It is really awesome. I can't get over how amazing it is so far. Your customer service has been equally wonderful and I am pleased doing business with you all the way around. I will call you if I have any questions.
Esaias G., FL
The speakers are awesome! I wasn't really worried they wouldn't be up to my listening standards (I did lots of internet research before I bought), but on the other hand, I know how different speakers can sound "different". Well, after getting everything hooked up to my new Sunfire Ultimate Receiver, I turned it on, and I was very happy. Very smooth sounding, not harsh, and my investment in the Epicenter 600 was money well spent (I'm a bass nut). Thanks Axiom! I feel it was money well spent!
Mark C., OK
Just wanted to thank you for taking time to answer my questions about the DVD player, and to thank Axiom for every part of my experience, from the initial conversation with the sales people, to the shipping. These are as beautiful as they looked on the internet. I am completely happy with the Epic 80's and everyone is impressed with the QS8 v2's. From all the reviews I expected them to handle high levels, but I am just amazed at the sensitivity and how clear the Epic 80's sound at very low volumes. Also, the web site should get an award as the best designed site on the web. http://www.axiomaudio.com is just presented beautifully with just the right amount of information and help I needed to purchase speakers for my home theater system. I looked for weeks on the Internet and Axiom's site was, hands down, the best in every regard. I read many of the articles, used the wizard, and explored the message board in order to make an informed decision (not to mention numerous calls to the people at Axiom). Once again, thanks for everything. It been a pleasure.
George V., CA
My wife and I just finished watching the third Lord of the Rings. The 7.2 set up was mindblowing! The subwoofer shook the building. Local nightclubs were calling, asking us to turn it down, they couldn't hear their music! ;-) And the extra two rear surrounds gave the total surround I was hoping for. The guys who installed the new equipment were blown away with it, and they're hard to impress. All they do is install equipment, and they couldn't believe the sound. Very, very cool..
Dr. Ken E., QC
I have owned my Axiom speakers for 8 years now and love them. Thanks in advance for your help as every time I have contacted Axiom I have been impressed with your helpful and always friendly service and advice. By the way, I was the Timpanist of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra for 33 years and must say I am always impressed with a speaker that makes Timpani or allows Timpani to SOUND like timpani, not just a thump in the background.
