The SD-871 marks Sherwood Newcastle's first foray into CD/DVD players that support DVD-Audio and SACD. The SD-871 features Faroudja DCDI processing, HDMI output including 720p and 1080i "upscaled" video, 216 MHz Video DAC's, IEEE 1394 (Firewire) audio output, dual component video output with RCA and BNC connectors and RS-232C control. For pristine playback of CDs, DVD-A and SACD, the Pure Audio Mode turns off all video processing to remove any potential video interference.
