I have good intentions to build some ,but the dentist took my table saw money. Maybe next month. The 900s will do till then. They are also still in use for stereo music listening.

Nice setup! Looks like loosing weight might be working out for you…just don’t try that sort of crash “diet” too often. Luckily it cost me nothing when I lost 100lbs.

Nice. Any particular reason why the QS8 are installed low?

In all honesty, i never read the literature that came with them so i put them where they sounded good. It is a family tradition and maybe even a typical guy thing to not read instructions.:) Perhaps i will investigate this further.

Read the instructions first, or not at all. Anything else is admitting defeat.

Usually, surround speakers (especially the QS) are 2 or 3 feet above ear level to better diffuse ambiance sound and create an envelopping soundfield. Since nothing is blocking you physically, you might want to give it a try with either people olding them higher or some ladder or something. I personally believe you will like them even better higher up, but it is definitely your liking that is paramount in your listening environement!

I agree that you should experiment with placement if you have the inclination. I have found that about 1-2 feet above ear level works best for me. Enhances the ambiance w/o causing directional cues of hard pans in video games from sounding like they are moving up as they transition from front to back.

Well my parents were here from BC when the speakers showed up. And my dad and i are both audio nutz always have been so with all those tasty treats waitng for us, we got the drill out and let out a few grunts ( tim allen style) and got to work.Every room is different and they seem pretty good where they are.Since this house is a rental i really dont want to add anymore holes that i have already.
