HG Rosewood's (I think I'm done)

I am putting the link up for my previous gallery so I won't have to post all my old pics back here. My system has changed quite a bit since I joined up here a few years ago. In this gallery I will give all the details of my current setup and hopefully my last setup. So here we go!

http://www.axiomaudio.com/boards/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showgallery&Number=212511#comments

All my speakers have the HG Rosewood finish. the setup has:
Fronts M80's
Centre VP180
Side Surrounds A's M80's
Side Surrounds B's QS8's
Rear Surround VP150
Subwoofers front l and r EP800's
Subwoofer rear EP500

Other equipment
Powering the front soundstage Axiom A1400-8
Powering all the surrounds in bridged mode Denon POA-A1HDCI
Pre-Pro Denon AVP-A1HDCI
Universal player OPPO BDP-83
DVD player OPPO DV-983H
Satellite Receiver Bell 9242
Apple TV
Monitors 60" Pioneer Kuro PRO-141FD For watching visuals
23" Samsung SyncMaster 2333HD For listening to music

That's it.
I will "suffer" with what I currently have until death us do part. laugh
Maybe one day I will get a proper HT room but not in my current house. Luckily I have no more room for speakers.

Onn:

Sounds like you room is a bit bigger then mine. But probably close enough that you can shed some light on having 2 800s (+/- a 500) in a small-mid size space.

I certainly understand the "want" factor of the ep800 (as I too feel the spec/awe pull). I have a feeling though that 2 to 4 ep400/ep500s may be the better bet (in my space). Short of doing the tests myself I'm at a bit of a loss.

Anyway thanks to anyone with any thoughts/insights on this subject.

Richard

Hey Richard
If you want a sub from Axiom that goes down the lowest frequency wise then you get a EP800. If you don't want that then 2 EP500's will work. It's always a matter of what you want/need.

Yes ... if better specs alway translate into better sound/feel in a any space, no matter how small ... then I'd be all set.

In the end, I think, I'm asking questions which my be a bit too subjective ... the only way to know for sure would be compare the subs in the actual room using my own criteria / judgment. Till then I'll just read what I can.

Thanks

Rich

Sorry it took so long to get back to you on the room size. I forgot!
Total room size is 22' x 18'-4"
Subtract off that measurement:
the front door entrance way with closet
The bay window (TV is 3 feet in front of the windows)
Stairs up to the second floor
Stairs down to the basement
So after all that my usable space is 15' x 16'-4" approx.
Confusing enough? laugh

Alright...I have got to come and check that out!! That looks awesome. You have made serious improvements on what I thought was already the ultimate system! Geez, I'm practically down the street from you. I'll PM you and set something up. I know you're a busy guy.

Hey Ed, since it's pretty close for you to come this way, can you pick up some stuff for me on your way here. laugh
Can You pick up some Swiss and 12 yr. old cheddar cheeses from the Wisconsin Cheese Company. I love their cheese and they won't mail it up here to Canada. mad
Oh and I do enjoy my system! grin
