My new V3s
I decided to upgrade my M80 V2s and also retire the VP150 for the VP180

Your wife said that?? hmmmm... She'll be asking for "something" soon, I gather! Glad you like the upgrade... I wonder, does Axiom have some kind of upgrade/exchange policy? I'm looking at upgrading too, especially the vp180 from the 150...

Hi,
When I first saw pictures of the v3 drivers; I was not impressed, But when I saw them in the "flesh"; it was love at first sight. I was easily won over by their high tech look. I now prefer them over the old ones by a mile.

JC, I feel the same, I like the what I call the clean look they present. I have the M80 V2's in my PC room room (actually listening to them right now) so see the comparison daily. Hands down V3s have sleeker look and the sound....well... <-that says it all!

Well then JC, I sure wish the M3V3s I bought had the new white on white drivers. They didn't. Oh, I also sure wished they came with the magnetic latches for the grills. They didn't. Maybe next time.
In any case, I like the black-eyed-peas look of the old drivers.

Based on looking at my new M2sI agree that the contrast of the old dust caps looks better to me. The one case where I prefer the single colour is when they are smooth concave drivers w/o a dust cap. Those do look sort of cool but I still think overall I prefer the contrast.

I agree with the concave cone with no dust caps, Dean. I really like that look too. no dust caps Of course, the look of a polished aluminum or copper phase plug looks cool too.

Adrian, . . . the concave cone with no dust caps, . . . I really like that look too. . . It used to be my preferred choice as well until I saw the dust cap in the same material and colour as the cone itself. The dominating "copper" dust cap is very attractive at first but it rapidly looses its charm.

I see you put your center channel in the middle shelf .
I was thinking of doing tat and moving my electronics to the top shelf as i have the same stand .
