After much negotiation and the purchase of a bracelet I got my wife to agree to a 7.1 setup with some new Axiom speakers, check it out

How long were the negotiations? did you leave some bargaining power for 9.1 or any future upgrades? "Honey, I think some matching earrings would go nice with that bracelet....By the way ..."
