Bayne's Upgraded Home Theater

Three and a half months of work and it's finally done. Right on schedule as Mass Effect 3 comes out on Tuesday and I've booked Wednesday off from work to play it all day.

Very very nice, I've always promoted the benefit of acoustic panels, they helped greatly in my situation as well... Good job!

Nice room! I still haven't finished mine yet. But seeing your finished product has pumped some motivation into me to get r done! I don't think I should have installed the projector... once that was up it was like... "meh... good enough for now" and I've been watching movies and sports ever since!

Bayne, what projector are you running? I still have my optoma hd20... still going strong. But I'm thinking a new bulb will be need soon (you have no idea how many times I've fallen asleep watching a movie or a hockey game and wake up the next morning!!), Wish it had a timer; I'm sure I've wasted close to 1000hrs that way!

Don't do that! It won't cover well and it'll attract ants!

I still need some help with my windows... I'm thinking of installing a track with acoustic curtains on the ceiling, would that help?

I have a JVC DLA-RS25. It's over 2 years old, and seems to be happy and healthy. It took me several years to save up for a JVC, and after--hopefully--at least 5 years of service, I'll definitely get another.

I used a paint sprayer to paint that ceiling. It was quite a feat. The ceiling absorbed a lot of paint and took about 3 cans to cover it. I can't imagine doing it by hand and recommend renting a decent sprayer if you're planning to do it yourself. Not one of those small hand models, the ones with the gun, hose and compressor. And always keep touch-up paint handy. Every time you chip something off the ceiling you have to touch it up, but that shouldn't be a problem once you've installed everything.
