It's only better if sounds better to you. LFE+ Mains just means the main speakers are also playing in full range as well as anything below the crossover is sent to the sub. There is no magic setting as we all have different rooms and preferances. I like mine with LFE+Mains sometimes. It does make your amp work harder but it can do it. The M80s play quite low, I have my crossover set to 60, sometimes even 40 and the receiver just keeps working without any problems.
