I bought some cheap PA (DJ) speakers for my workshop. They're efficient as loud as hell for when they need to be louder than the tools....Not that I'm not advocating that you damage your hearing.

But for me, the ability to crank them and not have to worry about damage from sawdust, etc., made them a good choice.

Truth is, they sound much better than they have a right to for the price. Of course, my workshop isn't sucky-square, either.
