Omnimount does make some great stands. I've had the omnimount av rack in the link below for several years now and it is super sturdy.

I ordered the G304 as well! smile Actually, I tried the VP180 *on* the floor (tilted slightly up) when I was testing it before the move. It sounded just fine so I'm not too concerned that it's too close to the ground. I didn't want to invest in a really nice stand since I'll upgrade the TV in about two years. I would have purchased the A100, but reading about all the 'blue rain' problems made me hold off.
