I still think the Bell'O stand I linked above would be a great choice.
I have a VP180 on the bottom shelf of a Bell'O stand PVS-4218HG (around $300):

It fits, with two minor reservations: (1) the VP180 is a few pounds above Bell'Os specification for the bottom shelf maximum weight, (2) I have the VP180 displaced slightly to the left on the shelf, to accommodate the banana plugs which otherwise would hit the stand support at the back. Also, my 58" flat panel TV is an inch or so too wide for the stand.
