Well then I guess I will just have to find out who he talked to then.
I have been in communication with diehard seperate owners that have owned (Bryston, NAD, Parasound, etc.) over periods upto 20 years. Many of them have done side by side comparisons recently and give very high praise to the current lineup of Emo's.
All companies have issues in the beginning, and I will be the first to admit part of my problem was the MPS-1 amp which was pretty new at the time. Heck, it is not like Axiom has never had issues with their products, all companies do.
